INDIE-LINCS International Film Festival is back at Lincoln Arts Centre for its 8thedition from the 15th – 17thFebruary. The festival enables filmmakers and members of the public to watch films, meet industry guests and network.
This year dozens of established filmmakers and industry professionals will be right on your doorstep, with a chance to network with them and hear their stories. Paul Andrew Williams (Archie, Broadchurch, London to Brighton) the multi award-winning writer/director will discuss his career in independent films and directing high-end television. Actors Pauline Lynch (Trainspotting) and Robin Laing (Band of Brothers, Outlander) will speak about their careers in front of camera, and Philip Hoile from Bulldog Films will impart his wisdom on the often opaque processes of getting a distribution deal with your film.
Never been to a film festival before? It doesn’t matter. Indie-Lincs is open to everyone and you can chose the films or events that you want to attend with your festival pass.
This year’s festival kicks off on Thursday night (15th Feb) with a screening of the critically acclaimed and BAFTA nominated How to Have Sex, which scooped the Un Certain Regard Award at Cannes last year.
In addition to that we have over 40 short and feature length animations, documentaries and fiction films curated for your viewing pleasure, with a chance to meet their filmmakers at timetabled Q&As and social events.
Or you can get your glam on for your festival photograph on the red carpet at our Saturday night award ceremony.
If you love film, or interested in a career in the creative industries, then Indie-Lincs is not to be missed...
“Indie-lincs was recommended to me by a friend. I’m so glad we took part. It’s everything a festival should be. We saw some world-class films and made some valuable contacts. The organisers care about the people who take part and the staff and student volunteers were a credit to the festival. We’ll definitely go back”
William Bartlett - Indie Filmmaker.
